School trips in Hiroshima
When the first atomic bomb was dropped over the city in 1945, Hiroshima became known worldwide, for devastating reasons. The remains of the A-Bomb dome act as a haunting reminder of the past here, along with the personal stories and artefacts housed within the fantastic Peace Memorial Museum. The Museum and Memorial park are both incredibly thought-provoking visits and will help to put your students’ studies into context.
About Hiroshima
Today, Hiroshima is a place of peace and reflection, and for history students visiting Japan, spending a day or two here is an absolute must. A night in Hiroshima can easily be combined with trips to Tokyo or Kyoto, and can even be done as a day trip from Osaka.
