Diverse Liverpool!

Overview

Liverpool has so much on offer for art and music lovers, culture enthusiasts and history buffs.  The city is renowned for its multitude of historic landmarks, world-class sports arenas and entertainment.  This itinerary allows you to experience all of this, with visits to the cathedral and an art gallery, as well as going on a boat trip along the Mersey and having a tour of Anfield!

Of course you couldn’t go to Liverpool without visiting the award-winning The Beatles Story.  Learn about the band’s connection with the city in the world’s largest permanent exhibition about the lives and times of The Beatles.

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Depart School and travel to Liverpool.

    On arrival, get your bearings in the city with a walking tour and see the major sights with an expert guide.

    Then head to the awe-inspiring Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.  This dramatic icon of faith, architecture and human endeavour is spectacular in both scale and design.

    Arrive and settle into your accommodation.

  2. Day 2

    Start your day with a visit to The Beatles Story and be transported on an incredible immersive journey into the story of how four young lads from Liverpool were propelled to the dizzy heights of fame and fortune from humble beginnings.

    Then visit the Tate Liverpool which houses a wide range of modern art from Britain and around the world including local superstars of the art world such as L S Lowry.

    Head up the Radio City Tower, one of Liverpool's most iconic landmarks, which offers breath-taking panoramic views of the Wirral, North Wales and Lancashire, even as far as Snowdonia and Blackpool on clearer days.

    In the afternoon, go on a boat trip on the Mersey River and see Liverpool's stunning skyline from the water on board a fully-commentated tour boat!

  3. Day 3

    Begin the day with a trip to the International Slavery Museum.  The museum aims to improve understanding of different types of enslavement and they also actively campaign for human rights issues, building partnerships with other museums and organisations that share their vision.

    A trip to Liverpool would not be complete without a tour of Anfield, the home of one of England's most famous football clubs!  The tour takes in the dressing rooms and press room, the Players tunnel, a trip to the Liverpool FC Story and Steven Gerard Collection.

    Finally, visit the Blue Planet Aquarium, home to one of Europe’s largest collections of sharks!  There is a captivating underwater world waiting to be discovered, with more than 100 living displays.

    Return to school.
