Diverse Snowdonia!

Overview

Rugged mountain trails, coastal paths, old industrial sites, and heritage train lines – North Wales has it all!

Snowdonia National Park’s 823 square miles boast stunning coastline, forests, valleys, rivers, and Wales' biggest natural lake.  This adventurous backdrop is the perfect destination for Geography students!

There are also opportunities to delve into some history and culture at the 700-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site Conwy Castle.  And don’t forget to stop over in the seaside town of Llandudno – home to Alice Liddell, the inspiration behind Lewis Carroll’s famous character!

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Depart school and begin your journey to Wales!

    Arrive in Conwy and take a walk around the walls of Conwy's magnificent medieval fortress.

    Enjoy some free time to explore Conwy Quay and town, taking in the sea air!

    Afterwards, take the Llandudno Cable Car from Happy Valley to the summit of the Great Orme, 679 feet up, and admire the jaw-dropping panoramic views of the Bay of Llandudno!

    Stop for a stroll along Llandudno pier, few things say ‘seaside holiday’ quite like a stroll along the pier.

    Arrive and settle into your accommodation.

  2. Day 2

    Spend the day exploring the spectacular Snowdonia National Park with an expert guide!

    See sights such as: Cwm Idwal – a bowl-shaped hollow filled with the crystal clear waters of Llyn Idwal; Nant Ffrancon – a dramatic valley renowned for its glacial features; Llyn Ogwen – a lake where the legendary King Arthur’s sword Excalibur is said to remain; and Llanberis Pass – a breathtaking pass running for just over 5 miles from Llanberis to Pen-y-Pass.

    Enjoy a self-guided tour of Caernarfon Castle.  One of the most famous castles in Wales, Caernarfon was created under Edward I primarily as a military stronghold. Edward's son, the first English Prince of Wales, was even born here in 1284!

    In the evening, relax and watch a film at Galeri Caernarfon Cinema.

  3. Day 3

    Stop off to see Llanfair Slate Caverns, the tunnels and caverns you will see were all man-made over 100 years ago with only a candle for lighting.

    Journey back to school.
