Lille Christmas Market

Overview

Lille hosts the largest Christmas Market of Northern France and offers a fantastic programme of celebrations throughout the festive period.

Roam amongst seasonally decorated wooden chalets offering a variety of gifts including local hand-made pottery, confectionery and jewellery.  You can also take a ride on the Ferris wheel for spectacular views of the city.

You can also taste the local fayre, such as chestnuts and vin chaud (for adults only!) - Lille's Christmas Market is the perfect place for your students to practise their French and will definitely get you feeling festive!

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Morning
    Coach transfer and channel crossing to France.

    Afternoon
    Arrive in Lille and spend the afternoon exploring the Christmas Market, the largest, and one of the very best in France.

    Head to the winter wonderland of Place Rihour, displaying many chalets filled with gifts, decorations and festive food!

    Take a ride on the 50m high Ferris wheel in Lille’s main town square for beautiful views over the city.

    Evening
    Depart Lille and begin your journey back to the UK.

    Optional add on: Make a stop off at Cité Europe Shopping Centre to discover some of the big name stores before your channel crossing. 

Accommodation

Lille Christmas Market can be visited in a day, without the need to stay overnight.  Extend your stay by a night and add in a lunchtime demonstration with a professional chef at a cookery school or a demonstration at a local waffle-maker, artisan Chocolatier or Fromagerie!
