London Fashion & Textiles

Overview

London is one of the fashion capitals of the world and any group studying Fashion and Textiles will be spoilt for choice during their visit to this chic city.  London is renowned for its atmosphere of innovation and many leaders of the global fashion industry have started their creative journeys in London.

This tour can include a fashion walking tour, a visit to the famous Portobello Road or Camden Market, and a selection of museums including the Fashion & Textile Museum, the Museum of London’s dress collection, and the Victoria & Albert Museum.

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Depart school in the morning and travel to London. 

    Visit the fashion collection at the V&A Museum before enjoying a fashion walking tour in the afternoon.  Starting with the historic shops of St James’s, you’ll walk via the elegant Regency shopping arcades to the tailors of Saville Row.  You will then visit Bond Street’s designer outlets and the famous department store, Selfridge’s.

  2. Day 2

    Spend the morning at the Fashion and Textile Museum.  Founded by iconic British designer Zandra Rhodes, the museum is a cutting forum for contemporary fashion, with changing exhibitions showcasing developments in textiles, design and jewellery from 1945 to the present.

    Pay a visit to the Museum of London's dress collection.  The dress collection is internationally recognised for its quality, showcasing clothes and textiles made, sold, bought and worn in London from the 16th century to the present day. 

  3. Day 3

    Explore Camden Market, a cosmopolitan slice of London life which has grown from a group of clothing stalls in the 1970s to the sprawling craft, fashion and antique mecca of today.

    In the afternoon, travel back to school.
