New York Design and Technology

Overview

New York is arguably the creative capital of the world.  From the bright lights and billboards of Times Square, to the skyscrapers and bridges that surround you, it is a highly rewarding destination for Design students.

Take fascinating guided tours around the city's streets or visit a variety of museums including the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum narrating both historic and contemporary design, and covering one-of-a-kind to mass-produced items.

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Flight to New York.

    Evening visit to the Empire State Building for some amazing views of the city!

  2. Day 2

    Take a guided tour of the Skyscraper Museum, a must for design enthusiasts!

    Visit the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, a museum dedicated to architecture and design.  There's an option to add on a guided architecture tour here if you'd like! 

    Take a stroll in the world-famous Central Park.

  3. Day 3

    Take the Around Manhattan Bridge & Infrastructure River Cruise Tour, a great way to explore the many bridges and historic buildings, while travelling on the Hudson River.

    Spend the afternoon exploring the Brooklyn Bridge on a guided walking tour.

    Evening in Times Square.  You can round off your evening with a meal at Hard Rock Café or Planet Hollywood!

  4. Day 4

    Explore the Cooper Hewitt Museum.  Let us know if you'd prefer a guided tour or hands-on design workshop!

    Airport transfer and overnight flight home.

  5. Day 5

    Arrive home.

School Trip Accommodation

Accommodation

In New York, our schools tend to stay at the HI New York City Hostel, located in a historic building, minutes from Central Park. Or, you can opt for Holiday Inn New York City, just moments away from Times Square.

We use safe and secure accommodation especially suited to schools and quote on a no bed-sharing basis.  Our accommodation is usually 2* or youth hostel standard and provides a perfect base for enjoying your tour.  All accommodation we use is audited, and our auditing regime is verified by independent experts.
