Venice Citta d'Arte
Overview
Venice is an outstanding destination for an Art & Design school tour. Its beating heart is Piazza San Marco, surrounded by works of indisputable mastery and prestige: the imposing Campanile Bell Tower, and the Basilica; the Palazzo Ducale, symbol of the various golden temples of La Serenissima; the Moors' Tower, famously known as the Clock Tower; and the Ala Napoleonica, housing the Museo Correr.
The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is not to be missed; located inside the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, it holds important artworks from the 20th Century. The Gallerie dell'Accademia is another important museum, housed inside the majestic complex of the Scuola Grande de la Carità; and Ca' Rezzonico, one of the most awe-inspiring palaces from the Renaissance and location for the Museum of 18th Century Venice.
Venice is also the location for the renowed Biennale, where the spotlight alternates between art and architecture. Running alongside the two main events are annual showcases of dance, theatre, cinema and music.
