Overview

Amsterdam's Van Gogh Museum displays the world's largest collection by its famous native son Vincent.  A few blocks away, Vermeer's Kitchen Maid, Rembrandt's Night Watch and other Golden Age treasures fill the Rijksmuseum.

The Rembrandthuis offers more of Rembrandt via his atmospheric, etching-packed studio and the Stedelijk displays Mondrian among its modern stock.

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Depart school by coach and channel crossing. 

    Arrive Amsterdam in the afternoon and catch your first glimpse of the sights with a canal cruise!

  2. Day 2

    First, pay a visit to the Rijksmuseum, best known for its collection of 17th-century Dutch masters.

    Then take part in a portrait workshop at the Foam Fotografiemuseum.  Students will practice making special portraits of their fellow students with the help of a compact camera.

    In the evening, enjoy a guided walking tour of Amsterdam's main sights. 

  3. Day 3

    In the morning, visit the Van Gogh Museum, housing the world's largest collection of works by Vincent van Gogh.

    Later, pay a visit to the Rembrandthuis Museum - Rembrandt's House Museum owns an almost complete collection of his world-famous etchings.

    In the afternoon, take a stroll through the Jordaan neighbourhood and visit its quaint shops and artists’ studios.

    Afterwards visit Huis Marseille, which exhibits the history of photography and covers many of its genres and uses.

  4. Day 4

    Begin your journey back to school. 

Accommodation

Our groups visiting Amsterdam tend to stay at StayOkay Hostel Vondelpark or the MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam City West.  Our accommodation is usually 2* or youth hostel standard and provides a perfect base for enjoying your tour.
