Our Suggested Itinerary
Day 1
Depart school and travel to Lille.
When you arrive, have a wander around the Old Town of Lille, making sure you stop for a moment in Place Charles de Gaulles, the scenic market square in the centre of the city. Head into the Wazemmes Market to pick up some of the local produce for lunch! This would also be the perfect place to practise some French.
Then head to the Palais des Beaux-Arts Museum to discover France’s largest art collection after the Louvre. The gallery displays work from Goya, Rembrandt and Rubens.
Afterwards, visit Lille Cathedral, a modern cathedral with a stunning marble façade. This cathedral is considered a national monument and is well worth a visit!
Day 2
Go for a wander through Lille Zoo, home to an exciting range of animals and committed to animal conservation and animal welfare.
Before heading to Calais, visit Le Lautrec Chocolaterie, a chocolate shop home to some tasty treats where you can learn about the art of chocolate making!
Just before your crossing, hop out at the Cité Europe Shopping Centre to discover some big name stores.
Return to the UK.
