Our Suggested Itinerary

Day 1

Depart School and travel to Leeds.

Start your trip with a visit to The Holocaust Exhibition and Learning Centre where you will learn about life as a Holocaust survivor through an interactive, multi-media exhibition.  Through workshops students will hear the stories of children who survived Nazi persecution and settled in the north of England.

Then spend the afternoon at Kirkstall Abbey which is one of the most complete Cistercian monasteries in Britain.  The abbey is a marvel to behold with its dramatic architecture and magnificent ruins.

Take a guided tour in the neighbouring Abbey House Museum where you will learn about life in Victorian Leeds.

Arrive and settle into your accommodation. 

Spend the late afternoon discovering the story of Leeds on a self-guided tour along the Leeds Industrial Heritage Trail. You will see the legacy of Victorian times and some of the people, places and spaces that have made the city what it is today.

Day 2

Begin your day uncovering buried archaeological treasures and discovering the incredible history of Leeds at the Leeds City Museum.  In addition to the exhibitions you will take part in an 'Ancient Worlds: Egyptians' workshop. Here, groups will find out more about life in ancient Egypt, as well as trying their hand at wrapping a mummy! 

Afterwards, discover the charm of Leeds Chocolate Factory. Work in teams to design and make bespoke chocolates in a workshop your group is sure to love! 

Journey back to school.

Optional Day 3

Extend your trip to fit in a visit to Leeds Industrial Museum where you will learn about Leeds’s industrial heritage with collections of textile machinery, railway equipment and heavy engineering.

Our accommodation is usually 2* or youth hostel standard and provides a perfect base for enjoying your tour.
