Oslo is the obvious choice for a Viking-themed school trip; the Viking Planet offers a variety of unique experiences based on the Viking heritage of Norway; at The Historical Museum, you can view some of the most exquisite objects from the Norwegian Viking Age.  It’s also not far from Vestfold, the county in Norway boasting the most traces of their proud Viking heritage.

Our Suggested Itinerary

Day 1 - Oslo City Centre

Flight from London to Oslo and transfer to accommodation.

Free time exploring Oslo’s city centre.  Highlights include Aker Brygge Wharf, Damstredet, and the Royal Palace.

Optional evening activity: A group game of bowling!

Day 2 - Viking Planet

Visit The Viking Planet, a digital portal to the Viking age. It offers a variety of unique experiences based on the Viking heritage of Norway, more than a thousand years ago.

The New Viking Age exhibition at The Historical Museum contains some of the most exquisite objects from the Norwegian Viking Age.

Visit Norway’s Resistance Museum, which documents Norway’s domestic World War II history from 1940 to 1945.

Optional evening activity: Laser quest tournament!

Day 3 - Vestfold Viking Trail

Full day excursion: the Vestfold Viking Trail.

This guided bus tour includes the chance to experience what it was like to live as a Viking, visits to significant burial mounds, plus the chance to see the original Klåstad ship!

Optional evening activity: Team building at Fangene på Fortet!

Day 4 - Oslo Fjord Cruise

Go on a sightseeing Oslo Fjord Cruise and sail past the iconic landmarks of Oslo while you learn more about the history and culture of the city and discover the wonders and mysteries of the fjords.

Return flight to the UK.
