On your way into Wales, have the opportunity to visit Chester Zoo, a fantastic visit for the animal lovers! There are a number of majestic castles in Wales and this itinerary gives you the chance to visit a couple of these. If you’ve got other preferences, please let us know!

Depart School and travel to North Wales.
On your way to North Wales, visit Chester Zoo, with over 35,000 animals and 128 acres of gardens to explore. They are also a conservation and education charity committed to preventing extinction of endangered animals.
Arrive and settle into your accommodation.
Start your day with a visit to the Llanfair Slate Caverns! The tunnels and caverns you will see are all man made over 100 years ago with only a candle for lighting.
Then, take a trip to Conwy Castle, a famous fortress which is incredibly well preserved. Thanks to restored spiral staircases in its great towers, you can walk a full circuit of the battlements of the castle.
Begin with a visit to Anglesey Sea Zoo, which houses over 40 tanks with fascinating creatures such as octopi, lobsters, seahorses and jellyfish. You can also learn about British marine habitats and the conservation projects that are helping save them.
Then head to Beaumaris Castle, a great unfinished masterpiece. It was built to form part of the ‘iron ring’ of North Wales by Edward I. Unfortunately money and supplies ran out before the castle reached its full height. However, it is still a majestic building that is well worth a visit.
Return to School.
