Coach transfer to the Peak District.
Begin your trip with a visit to Tudor society! Travel back in time during this workshop on Tudor society and the threat of Mary Queen of Scots in a Tudor manor house. Exploring the religious turmoil of the period, allow your students to experience daily life at this disruptive time.
Next, head to Hardwick Hall, the ancestral seat of Mary Queen of Scots' captors: Bess of Hardwick and George Talbot. Enjoy a introductory talk tracing the history and development of the hall, journeying through its halls filled with Elizabethan tapestries and furnishings.
It is now time to head to your accommodation and settle in with a group meal.
This morning begins with breakfast at the accommodation.
Next, take a walking tour around the famous village of Eyam. Known as the 'plague village', learn how the residents of this village isolated during the plague to prevent spread to nearby villages, sacrificing themselves to save others.
Take a visit to the Plague Museum to learn more about the Black Death in Britain and what people believed the causes, treatments and preventatives to be.
In the afternoon, take a trip to Chatsworth House, in the beautiful town of Bakewell. With over 25 rooms and gardens to explore, there's plenty of art and nature to soak up before heading home.
